Caroma Cleanflush Cleans up at Good Design Awards 2016

Caroma’s commitment to setting new standards in the bathroom continues, with Caroma Cleanflush® recently awarded the prestigious 2016 Good Design Award for Best in Category, Product Design - Hardware and Building.

After two and a half years of intensive research, product development and testing, the hard work has paid off, with Cleanflush proving itself as yet another of Caroma’s breakthrough innovations in the bathroom.

The unique design of Caroma Cleanflush® removes the rim of the bowl, eliminating the traditional closed flushing rim and making all interior surfaces of the bowl more accessible than ever. Complementing this is Caroma's high performance flushing technology, so there's now nowhere for germs to hide. The result is Caroma’s most effective, easy to clean and hygienic toilet yet, with optimum flow, force and precision alignment. Its patented flow balancing technology is poised to become the new standard in toilet design.

“The Caroma Cleanflush range solves one of the most challenging problems associated with keeping toilets clean and hygienic. The end product is a perfect blend of form, function and sustainability. This product is set to change the industry and set a new benchmark for design and innovation in this market” Dr Brandon Gien CEO, Good Design Australia.

The Australian Good Design Awards are one of the longest standing design awards in the world, with the aim to recognise and reward excellence in design, innovation and creativity at a national and international level.

Caroma is proud to receive this recognition, as Dr Steve Cummings, Research and Development Team Manager, explains, “We’re moving into the next generation of products and Caroma Cleanflush® is definitely leading the way. It’s great to be rewarded for what we’ve achieved already.”

Established in 1941, Caroma is Australia’s leading bathroom brand. In its 75 years, almost every Australian has turned on, sat on, bathed in or flushed a Caroma product.

It was founded by Charles Rothauser, a brilliant man with a pioneering spirit invented the world’s first all-plastic, one-piece moulded cistern. Designed to combat Adelaide’s corrosive water.

Caroma has seen plenty of change but what hasn’t changed is its commitment to convey a truly Australian style – fresh, unencumbered by tradition, inspired by tomorrow and world-class.

The local team of talented designers understands the Caroma customer better than anyone and are at the forefront of local and international shifts in design to ensure that the products Caroma brings to market match Australians’ expectations and their signature way of life.
